Raven Rescue and Rehabilitation St Helena, North Carolina
Green Chapel in partnership with the Olvis Foundation, offer a safe and caring environment for all Corvids (Crows and Ravens) in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
Unlike most wild birds, Corvids are incredibly intelligent and engaging. These feathered friends require very specific care to thrive.
It has been a long held opinion that to successfully rehabilitate wildlife, engagement should be kept to a minimum. For highly intelligent species like apes, dolphins, whales and corvids, this is not necessarily the best approach. Isolating Corvids causes depression and undermines healing and rehabilitation. It has been observed, that human engagement does not reduce their willingness or ability to reintegrate into the wild.
Many wildlife rehabilitators do not have the staffing to work with Ravens and Crows, so we encourage you to make sure the agency you contact has a place for your rescue.
If you have found an injured or disoriented Corvid, you can contact us at 919-703-3311. If you are not able to travel with or move the bird, we may be able to provide transportation.
