Brugmansia are some of the most stunning garden plants available, and are a breeze to grow. Although Brugmansia will grow anywhere, they prefer cool spring and fall temps. This makes this plant especally suited to northern gardens. Northern gardeners can plant Brugmansia in full sun. Southern gardeners will need to follow the half-day sun rule, and water well. Most brugs prefer morning sun and afternoon shade, so plant of the East or South-east side of your home or garden. These plants need plenty of water when the weather gets hot. They also like regular feeding. Use any fertilizer recommended for flowers. We use Osmocote, Peters, Miracle-grow, or Espoma These Plants are not picky about soil. Any good garden or potting soil (if its in a pot) will do. Depth of planting is not an issue. In early spring, Brugmansia can be susceptible to spider mites. Spraying with any good garden insecticide will do, or use a systemic, like "Bayer all-in-one" This feeds and protects from insects. We rarely have issues with these insects later in the season.
